What is a Fair4All Card Partner?

A Fair4All Card Partner is a business, organisation, or service that recognises and supports Fair4All Card holders. These partners commit to providing a welcoming and accessible environment for disabled people by undergoing training and displaying materials that show their partnership.

Partners receive free online training to help their staff understand how to help cardholders effectively and they display window stickers and other materials to show they support the Fair4All card scheme.

Because the Fair4All Card only lists adjustments and exemptions that disabled people are entitled to by law, recognising the Fair4All Card should not require a business, organisation or service to do anything new or exceptional.

Typically, a Fair4All Card Partner will do the following:

  • Train their staff to recognise the Card and understand what to do when it is presented to them. Free online training will be provided.
  • Display window stickers and other point of sale material so that disabled people know you are a partner. We will provide you with this material free of charge.
  • Work with us to improve and develop access and inclusivity for disabled customers if needed. Our staff and volunteers will do this constructively and discreetly, free of charge.

Yes. The complaints form is available here. We encourage Partners to report any abuse of the Fair4All Card Scheme by a Holder. If the complaint is upheld, we may withdraw the Card or require the Holder to undergo training.

If a Fair4All Card Holder complains about a Card Partner, we will always contact you and get your side of the story before resolving the complaint. If you recognise the Card and meet our Scheme expectations, it is unlikely that any complaint would succeed.

By becoming a Fair4All Card Partner, you are demonstrating your willingness to make reasonable adjustments as required by the Equality Act. By providing the adjustments shown on the card to Fair4All Card Holders, you are meeting your obligation to provide reasonable adjustments to those customers or service users.

Should a Card Holder bring an action for disability discrimination in the County Court, the fact that you provided the adjustments shown on the card will be admissible as evidence that you used your best endeavours to provide reasonable adjustments as required by law. If necessary, BuDS can be called as an expert witness to this effect.
