For many people, January is the time for making New Year’s Resolutions, so if volunteering is on your mind for 2022, why don’t you read on to find out about the exciting opportunities right here on the Fair4All Card team!
Here at BuDS we know it can sometimes be difficult to keep on top of everything you hope to do. Life has a habit of slightly getting in the way of our great intentions. So, if you want to join a small dedicated team who will be ready to support and help you through whatever life throws at you this year, why don’t you join us? It’s the start of a new year, and we’re looking forward to everything we have planned.
First, a quick recap on what we do. The Fair4All Card helps disabled people in Buckinghamshire and beyond get access to the reasonable adjustments they need and deserve. Disabled people can show their Card to any shop, service or organisation, no matter where they are, and know that they can ask for the things they are legally entitled to. This can include needing seating while queuing, needing quick access to a toilet, telling people that they use technology to communicate, and so much more.
Sound interesting? Read on to find out what you could do in our team.
Do you have or want experience in admin? You could join our applications team, helping us to process the application forms. Get experience with handling enquiries, using databases, and working closely with disabled people to make sure they get what they need and deserve.
Or maybe persuading people is more your thing? If that’s the case, our outreach team sounds perfect! We always need more people to help us make phone calls and directly invite shops, services, and organisations to join the Fair4All Card Scheme as trained Partners.
If you prefer behind the scenes data collection, we have that too. We have a team of volunteers who gather data for our outreach team to use. This valuable part of the team helps everything run smoothly so our outreach team can do what they do best.
So, as you can see, we have a huge variety of roles in the scheme. We hope that you can see yourself in one of these roles. Of course, if you have other skills that you think would be helpful, we’d love to hear from you. We are constantly evolving and making the scheme better, so any new skills are always amazing.
If you’re as excited by this as we are, let us know via our contact form at https://buds.org.uk/help-buds/volunteering/.
We can’t wait to meet you!
