Louise* talks about her experience volunteering with the Fair4All Card Team

Today Louise* talks about how she came to join the Fair4All Card team. Please be aware that Louise’s story briefly mentions domestic abuse and the impact it had on her.

“Hello my name is Louise* I have only recently joined BuDS as part of the Fair4All Card team. As a survivor of domestic abuse both emotional and physical I found my self-esteem was low. I was told about BuDS and a quick google search showed me how important their work was. I was impressed at how diverse they were and wanted to join. I guess for me it was about giving back, being a part of something bigger than myself. I joined BuDS to help make a difference in a world that is far from perfect. I was welcomed onto the team and was walked through the process with patience and understanding.

I joined BuDS because I wanted to help but in reality, BuDS has helped me. My confidence has grown and I’ve found my voice again. I can’t thank BuDS enough for giving me this opportunity.”

*The name of our volunteer has been changed to protect their identity. Thank you to Louise for sharing this – we are so happy to hear that she is enjoying her time with us on the team.
